Responsible Gambling
Every game on this site has a house edge, so over time the player loses. Gambling can be a paid form of entertainment for adults who can afford it; it is never a way to earn money or to solve money problems. This page covers the law in Cambodia, the tools that keep play under control, the warning signs of a problem and where to find free help.
The law comes first
Cambodia's Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling (LMCG) does not allow Cambodian citizens to gamble or to enter casinos. Online casino licences have not been issued since 2019, and online casino operations in the country are suspended from October 2026. If you are a Cambodian citizen, the responsible choice is simple: do not gamble online. Everyone else should check the law where they are and the operator's list of restricted countries before playing.
Set your limits before you play
- Deposit limit — caps how much money can enter the account per day, week or month.
- Loss limit — caps net losses over a period, so replaying winnings does not stretch the budget.
- Session limit — ends play after a set time.
- Reality check — a reminder that shows time played and net result, without stopping play.
- Cooling-off — a short break of a day to several weeks when no play or deposits are possible.
- Self-exclusion — closes the account for months or years; see our self-exclusion guide.
These tools are usually found in the account settings of a licensed operator. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising one normally takes effect only after a waiting period. Set a deposit limit on the first day, while it still feels unnecessary — that is exactly when it works best.
Warning signs
Be honest with yourself about these questions. Do you spend money meant for rent, food or family? Do you hide how much or how often you play? Do you go back to "win back" losses? Do you feel restless or irritable when you try to stop? Has gambling caused arguments, debt or lost time at work or study? Two or more yes answers mean gambling has stopped being entertainment, and asking for help now is easier than later.
Where to get help
Cambodia has no national helpline dedicated to gambling problems. The options below are free or low-cost and can help:
- Gambling Therapy — a free international online service specifically for gambling problems, with chat, forums and support groups in many languages. For someone in Cambodia it is the most relevant gambling-specific option.
- TPO Cambodia — a mental-health organisation with a treatment centre in Phnom Penh, phone 016 222 597 / 095 777 004. It is not a gambling-specific service, but it offers professional mental-health support.
- Gamblers Anonymous — an international mutual-help fellowship with a meeting finder; it is not a hotline.
Age verification and protecting minors
This site is for adults 18+ only. Licensed operators must verify age before paying out, and many markets set the minimum at 18+ or 21+; underage gambling is prohibited everywhere. At home, keep casino logins out of shared devices and browsers, and use parental controls where children use the same phone or computer.
Restricted countries and the operator's rules
Every licensed operator publishes a list of restricted countries in its terms; registering from one of them usually voids winnings. The licence itself always belongs to the operator — for an online casino reached from Cambodia it is necessarily foreign, since Cambodia does not license online casinos. Its number and regulator are printed in the operator's footer and can be checked in the regulator's register.
Responsible gambling tools: where to start
If you play at all, start with two tools: a deposit limit that matches your monthly entertainment budget, and a reality check every thirty or sixty minutes. Together they cost nothing in flexibility and make the time and money spent visible. Add a session limit if you notice sessions running longer than planned, and a cooling-off break if play stops being fun. Self-exclusion is for when a break is not enough.
On slots specifically, turn off autoplay and turbo modes, which remove the natural pauses between spins, and keep the stake small enough that the session budget covers at least a hundred spins.
