Bakong and KHQR at Dewi888
If you have paid a shop in Cambodia by scanning a printed QR code, it may well have been a KHQR code. KHQR is the national QR standard, and it means a single code can be paid from almost any Cambodian banking app. For a casino cashier, a KHQR option is the most flexible local method: you do not need an account at one particular bank. Whether Dewi888 offers it on your account is not something we have confirmed — check the cashier.

What Bakong and KHQR are
Bakong is the National Bank of Cambodia's interbank payment system, launched on 29 October 2020. Accounts on it are kept in riel or in dollars, and money can be sent by QR code, by phone number or to a saved contact. KHQR is the national QR code standard, built on the international EMV format and managed by the National Bank as part of Bakong. Its promise is "one QR for all": a merchant shows one code, and customers of different banks and payment operators can all pay it. You will sometimes see Bakong described as a digital currency; that label is disputed, and the National Bank itself calls it a payment system.
How to deposit with KHQR
- In the Dewi888 cashier, choose the KHQR or Bakong option and enter the amount.
- A QR code appears, usually with a time limit. Do not screenshot it for later — generate a fresh one each time.
- Open your banking app or the Bakong app, choose scan, and point it at the code.
- Check that the amount, the currency and the recipient match, then confirm and keep the reference.
Because KHQR settles between institutions on the national system, a deposit usually reaches the cashier within minutes. If the currency on the code differs from your app account, your bank converts it — check the rate before confirming.
Withdrawals and KHQR
QR codes are for paying, so a payout does not come back "by KHQR". If the cashier supports local payouts, the money goes to a bank or Bakong-connected account in your name, usually identified by account number. The first payout also waits for identity verification, and the account name must match your casino profile exactly.
Why a payment gets declined
Expired codes cause most failures, followed by daily limits in the paying app and currency mismatches. If your bank refuses the payment outright, it may apply its own policy on gambling merchants; only the bank can confirm that.
From a phone
Paying a QR shown on the same phone you scan with is awkward. Use the "scan from gallery" option in your banking app if it has one, or open the cashier on a second screen. Never scan a code someone sends you through a chat app claiming to be a casino.
Limits, timing and why they differ
Your bank sets limits per transaction and per day; the operator sets its own minimum and maximum. The lower one applies. Deposits are usually quick, payouts wait for the operator's review first. The figures that apply to your account are shown in the cashier.
